Upper Cervical Care for Tampa, St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay Patients
Most people in Tampa Bay have a chiropractor close to home. Some, though, are looking for something narrower: an upper cervical chiropractor who focuses on the top two bones of the neck, uses a careful exam and imaging, and makes an ultra specific, gentle adjustment. If that is what you want, Dr. Hasson at Specific Chiropractic in Boca Raton welcomes patients from Tampa, St. Petersburg, Brandon, Riverview, Wesley Chapel, Lakeland and the surrounding area.
An Honest Word About the Distance
Boca Raton is about 200 miles from Tampa. By car, that is roughly three and a half to four hours each way, usually via I-75 and Alligator Alley or via the Florida Turnpike. That is a real commitment, and we will not pretend otherwise. Patients who make this trip usually do so because they have tried other options, want a very specific approach, or are already spending part of the year on the east coast.
If you are already visiting South Florida for family, work, a sports event or a vacation, an appointment fits naturally into that trip. Our hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8 AM to 7 PM, and Friday 8 AM to 2 PM. Text us and we will help you plan the visit around your travel. If someone nearer to you is a better fit, Dr. Hasson will say so.
What Is Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care?
Upper cervical care focuses on the atlas (C1) and axis (C2), the two bones at the top of the neck. They sit just below the skull, protect the brainstem area, and allow most of the nodding and turning of your head. Small shifts here can change how the rest of the spine carries load.
Our approach is ultra specific. Dr. Hasson measures the position of the atlas and axis, and if a correction is appropriate he uses a gentle, precise, low-force adjustment. The adjustment is ultra specific and gentle. Your response is then re-checked so each step is based on findings and not guesswork.
Conditions We Commonly See
People travel to us for neck pain, headaches and migraines, vertigo and dizziness, whiplash and car accident injuries, jaw (TMJ) pain, post-concussion symptoms, low back and hip imbalance, and sports injuries. We do not promise specific results or cures. The goal of the exam is to find out whether an upper cervical misalignment is part of your picture.
Car Accident and Sports Injuries
We take car insurance for accident-related care, and athletes of every level are welcome. If you were hurt in a crash, call or text as soon as you can, since Florida has strict time limits for starting care.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
The first visit starts with a conversation about your history, symptoms and goals. Next comes a physical and neurological exam and, when appropriate, upper cervical imaging. Dr. Hasson then explains what he found, whether care is recommended, what it involves and what it costs. If a correction is indicated it is gentle and takes only a few minutes. Bring any recent imaging or reports with you.
